Tao Yoga is one of the names used in the West to refer to the practices based on ancient Taoist knowledge and Traditional Chinese Medicine, that aim at cultivating health, relaxation and general well-being, preventing disease, increasing longevity and achieving balance at all levels (physical, mental and emotional).
According to Chinese Tradicional Medicine, the life-force energy (Chi) flows through the meridians of the body (“energy highways” that are used in acupuncture and shiatsu). To have good health is important to have a high level of Chi and to balance Yin and Yang energies.
In this workshop we will practice:
Taoist meditations: The most well-known Taoist meditations are the Inner Smile and the Six Healing Sounds, and use concentration and visualization with the aim of relaxing the nervous system and the mind, releasing negative energy and negative emotions stagnating in the internal organs, as well as increasing the internal energy.
Chi self-massage: This self-massage is practiced on the energy meridians to activate them.
Chi Kung: The practice of creating and storing vital energy, through gentle movements and conscious breathing in a “moving meditation”.
Tao Yin (Chinese Yoga): It could be considered as a Chi Kung practiced in lying and sitting positions. It aligns bones and joints, relaxes de psoas and strengthens the CORE and the internal organs.
This weekend workshop is open to all. Beginners welcome.
