Yoga for Men

Santidas Yoga is all about equality. We seek to promote the practice of Yoga to Men. We understand that many men shy away from Yoga as it has become more geared to a female audience with mostly female teachers. Men are as much in need of the practice of Yoga than women. A regular practice will improve physical and mental flexibility, decrease levels of stress, and create mental and physical strength, needed as much as by men as for women. Yet the physical needs might be different: strength might be more important the flexibility, different postures work on different mental and spiritual level, communication differs. Sash, with his almost 40 years of teaching experience recognises this need and is dedicated to teach - in English and French - a unique class for - men only - bringing out the Shiva god (God of the male power). We begin this class as of 8th of January and will bring on more as demand might rise. All levels open.

  1. The Secret of Peace - Retreat in Italy 24.7.-28.7

Many of us yearn for Peace. Yoga shows us how to work on our inner peace in order to interact with our environment and make it more peaceful. Besides a deep and spiritual Yoga practice, there are methods and instruments that we can use to facilitate of how we respond and engage in conflict. In this retreat, nestled in Grempoli a peace centre in Tuscany, Italy, we will reflect and practice peace work both within and in engagement of others. We will query our relationship with conflict, question our approach to communicating with others, question our attitude to ourselves and others, always coming back to the breath and mediation to build deep strong inner foundations to strengthen our resilience. It is a journey for the serious Yoga and Peace seeker, facilitated by Santi Das - Dr. Antje Herrberg a peace practitioner and teacher and Yogi for decades. This is the first retreat of this kind, bringing two worlds of peacemaking together. The journey will entail stamina for early rising, vegetarian cuisine and selfless service to the community (Karma Yoga), a willingness to share and to care. Discretion and dedication are an important ingredient. For more information or question please contact also: santidas.herrberg@gmail.com

  2. Hormone Yoga Workshop with Lucia

Hormones reign our life ! Regulate your hormonal changes with a specific Yoga sequence and reduce dependency from hormonal substitutes, live hormonal changes with much more ease and less discomfort. Lucia Vimercati will lead us through this workshop. She is certified by Dinah Rodrigues, the pioneer ‘mother’ of this approach which has helped thousands of women (and men !) to address specific needs due to a change of our physical body.
Hormone Yoga helps to reactivate hormone levels and to effectively prevent or eliminate the symptoms of menopause. It also benefits those women suffering from hormonal disorders (PMS, irregular periods, polycystic ovary, thyroid imbalance) and those who have difficulties getting pregnant due to low hormone levels. Through dynamic yoga poses, energetic breathing exercises, visualization and some Tibetan energy circulation techniques, Hormone Yoga stimulates the glands associated with hormone production i.e. the ovaries, the thyroid and parathyroid, the hypophisis and the adrenals. Once you learn the sequence it will take you 30 minutes to practice it and it is recommended to practice it at least 3-4 times per week to obtain the desired results.
During the workshop we will slowly go through the sequence and explain the different exercises step by step. We will also look at some anti-stress and relaxation techniques. At the end you will get a handbook with all the instructions so that you can continue to practice it at home.
Contraindications: Hormone Yoga is contra-indicated in case of pregnancy and with certain conditions such as active endometriosis, large fibroids, hormone dependent breast/uterine cancer or history of, undiagnosed abdominal pain.
As a pre-registration in the workshop you will receive a questionnaire to make sure you don’t have any contraindications and to allow the teacher to modify the poses for you in case of particular issues.
